Annie's early days were tough. She was given to my grandmother as a kitten in 2013 where she endured a life of isolation and bullying from other pets. She escaped them by living under & behind furniture.
When my grandmother passed in 2021, we welcomed Annie into our home. Overweight, fearful, and tangled in mats, she needed care. Through patience and affection, Annie "got her groove back."
Now, Annie thrives - no longer hiding, she grooms regularly and loves her cuddles.
We've since discovered that Annie is battling triaditis, affecting her pancreas, liver, and intestines. She is on a restrictive rabbit diet, antibiotics, and occasional steroids. Because of this, she does vomit about once a week.
Unfortunately, her past trauma makes harmony with my cats impossible despite exhaustive efforts. She's just not willing to play nice. Which isn't fair to her or my other cats.
So we need to find a new home for Annie.
