My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Denver (aka 'Denny')is a sweet, loving, and smart almost 2 year old jack russell mix who weighs about 22 lbs. He may have a little dachshund with those cute short legs and longer body but we can't be sure without a DNA test.

Denver would like you to know he;s not a fan of cats but is a big fan of people once he gets to know you. He is a little feisty guy who loves to explore the world around him . Denver LOVES toys, especially soft small squeaky toys that fit comfortably in his mouth. He is very energetic and would thrive in an environment that would give him the exercise and stimulation that he requires.

Denver is crate trained but of course doest mind at all sleeping next to you. He is very agile and smart enough to join the circus or excel in agility sports. All he needs is a family that will give him the training he needs to focus that energy. Our guy is very cuddly and will keep you entertained. He is a dear and can be very loving and affectionate.

Our adoption process takes several steps and cannot be completed in one day. All of our volunteers work full time and assist the rescue in their spare time. Please allow 2-3 business days for a response.

* Applicants must be willing to make a ten plus year commitment to their new family member.

* Applicants must commit to daily exercise, walks, trips to the dog park or play in the back yard. A well exercised dog is a happy well behaved dog!

* Applicants living in a rental property must provide proof of pet policy from landlord.

* Applicants must provide a veterinarian reference and if there are existing dogs in the household. All pets must be spayed/neutered and current on all shots and heartworm medication.

*Please allow at least a 7-14 day adjustment period for your new dog. Rescue dogs go thru a lot of changes and need a few days to get used to their new surroundings and adjust. Adopting a dog should be a serious commitment, so please be willing to work out the kinks. Our dogs aren't perfect but with proper training and guidance they make awesome, loving pets.

*Our adoption fees vary based on the age and medical needs of the dogs.
