Heeler/Cattle dog fans – check out our white pocket Heeler! At only 18 lbs., Duke is what we call “fun sized.” Though Duke may not share all of the physical characteristics of a heeler, when we had him Embarked, he came back 66% Heeler. And we weren’t surprised with his results – personality/behaviorally, Duke acts exactly like a Heeler in that he is talkative, loyal, wary of strangers, intelligent, mouthy, attentive, bossy, and loves to herd the other dogs. He desires to fiercely bond with his person and will follow you around everywhere – he’s always at your heels!
Sadly, Duke experienced physical and mental abuse before he found his way to our rescue. But, with a lot of love and patience combined with professional training and consistent structure, Duke has made some amazing strides. This special boy will need a patient and dedicated owner who can commit to continuing the work needed to bring out all of Duke’s amazing qualities.
Given his breed personality combined with his underlying trauma, we understand Duke is not a dog for just anyone. However, if cattle dogs are your thing, we promise Duke will be a very loyal and loving boy towards those he learns to trust. Do you think that could be you? Please fill out an adoption application if you are interested in meeting our mini-Heeler, Duke.
**Adoption fee includes: vaccinations, neuter, dewormed, labwork, dental, and microchipped.
(At this time, we only do adoptions in the Phoenix valley and surrounding cities – within a 60 mile radius.)
