I’m Larkin, an American Staffordshire Terrier/American Bully mix with soulful brown eyes that will melt you.
I’m about 3 years old and have been at the shelter for almost a year.
It’s been a long journey for me to be ready for my forever family! I came to the Humane Society from York County Animal Services after I had been hit by a car. HSYC took me in and got me medical care for my broken pelvis and cuts and bruises. I was malnourished and had mange from living on the streets, and was heartworm-positive.
The Humane Society got me into foster care to heal my body and spirit. I’m a healthy, energetic boy now, and a heartworm warrior who successfully beat that awful illness.
In foster care, I learned indoor-dog manners and my house-training. I also learned that I don’t do well in a kennel, and I got along well with the resident dog.
I’m a major “velcro dog” and I want to be everywhere with my people. I love hugs and cuddles and chest rubs and chin scratches! I love everyone I meet, but I’m a strong, stocky boy who gets some occasional zoomies, so I may not be a good fit for small children.
I’m good with my leash-walking and enjoy some sun-bathing and fetch in the yard. And boy am I a skilled couch potato. If you’re looking for a sweet pup who wants to be attached at the hip with you, I’m your guy!
I’m up to date on vaccines and preventions, neutered and microchipped. If you wish to meet me, please call the Humane Society of York County at (803)-802-0902 to schedule an appointment.
