My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Whimsey is a beautiful little Lhasa mix who is 11 years old. He has a great personality, loving and laid back. He spent his life with the same wonderful lady who took good care of him, and he wanted for nothing. While visiting a strange new city, his mama passed away in the hotel they were staying in leaving poor Whimsey to be found and rescued after some time had passed. He took some time to grieve. but is now a happy guy ready to begin a new life and adventure with someone new.

Whimsey wants to be wherever you are and is quite the follower. He weighs approximately 18 pounds, is healthy and current with all vaccines and neutered. He does have a grade 2 heart murmur which is normal for a guy his age. He will need to have a dental which was scheduled the day his owner died. Tiny Paws will assist with the dental fee.

Whimsey walks well on a leash, loves to sleep in your bed or hang out with you on the couch or your favorite chair. As with all new arrivals, Whimsey is just learning what is expected in the housetraining department, but he will catch on quick because he is a smart little cookie.

More about this rescue

Tiny Paws Small Dog Rescue was born out of my love for small dogs and desire to help those in need, and in memory of the loss of a dear family member. Dealing frequently with small breed puppies and retired breeder moms, we strive to find homes that are aware of the commitment to raising a small breed dog and to the patience needed in socializing and housebreaking a retired breeder mom who has no idea what life in a home is all about. We are foster home based and are always looking for new foster homes to help us continue our love of rescuing dogs in need. We are happy to assist in owner surrender placements, especially those in need of surrendering their small dogs due to financial hardships, loss of a loved one, or dog owner entering assisted living facilities or nursing homes. We pride ourselves with a thorough search for that perfect home for a dog in need and follow up with phone calls to ensure things are going well. Tiny Paws will take back an adopted dog should the need arise within a reasonable notice and an available foster home has an open spot. Our goal is to someday own a building to house even more canine companions in need. We look forward to helping you find your family pet.
