My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Thelma Todd is looking for her perfect match, she is tired of looking in all the wrong places so she packed her leash and treats and hit the road for TAPS.
Thelma loves to take leisurely strolls while stopping to smell the roses. She is in no big hurry and doesn't understand why puppies these days are in such a hurry pulling the leash this way and that, zooming circles around....well everything. Thelma has learned to slow down, smell the fresh air, enjoy the quiet quality time in nature with her special someone. She does not react to other dogs, there is no reason to yell back at them when they bark at her. She does not have time for such non-sense, its very undignified.
Thelma has learned the value of gazing into the humans eyes .This girl knows the kind human can not resist her loving gaze This is how you get the human to pet you, give yummy treats, and stroke ears. Thelma said her perfect match will love to sit down watch some tv or kick their feet up and read while she sits at your side quietly getting scratched. Those puppies are into everything and that makes it hard for the human to relax for a little me time. She knows the best medicine is just to sit quietly and breath while petting a dog, Are you looking for a partner to share your down time with? If so Thelma is taking applications for her perfect match at tapsshelter.org.

More about this shelter

TAPS-Tazewell Animal Protective Society was founded in 1958 in Pekin Illinois in a building donated by the City of Pekin on River Road. In 1979, rapidly rising river water forced the evacuation of the animals. Once again, the City of Pekin stepped in and donated a building for the animals. Several moves later, and with the help and generosity of many volunteers and community members, TAPS now has a new home at 100 TAPS Lane. Last year we celebrated 50 year of caring for the homeless animals of Central Illinois.
