Rocco (A134374) is a year-and-a-half old GSD x husky mix who weighed just over 40lbs at intake!
04/26/24 This young man is Rocco! Rocco was brought into the shelter because he was experiencing some separation anxiety in his previous home. He will need a strong and secure kennel when left alone, as he can easily break out our of wire crates and can become destructive when he gets worked up. Rocco is a young boy made up of two very high energy breeds. It will be important for his next home to provide him with plenty of physical and mental enrichment. Rocco has also had a lot of upheaval in his short life, so he is looking for a patient home that is comitted to him. He is working on being housebroken, but still has some accidents when he is asked to hodl it for too long. He has a good start on basic obedience, but enrolling him with a basic obedience class with a certified trainer would be a great way to get some of excess energy out and continue to work on his manners. Rocco has been known to jump fences, so make sure he is secured when outside unattended. He can be rough when playing, and was said to ride well in the car. Rocco loves people and other dogs, but was said to chase the cat in the home. His previous owner said they thought it was more playful than predatory, but the cat really did not appreciate it. If you are interested in meeting Rocco, please give the shelter a call!
