My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

And our sweetest girl Penelope is ready to find a family to call her own. I included her picture from the day we pulled her as this shows just how far this girl has come with proper medical care and lots of love and now her journey is ready to begin with a family to call her own
Penelope is estimated to be 1.5 years old she is 55 pounds and honestly thinks she is a lap dog
Here is what her amazing foster Mom, Sharon, had to say about this special girl:
You sent
If you are looking for an amazing companion, Penelope is your girl. Penelope loves loves loves people. She will be very bonded and completely loyal to you. She loves toys and especially her ball. She will play fetch non stop with you. A fenced yard would be great as she loves to run around and chase anything that moves. She wants to be by your side all the time and will crawl into your lap or lay next to you and go to sleep. She does pull on a leash and we are working on that. She is housebroken and crate trained. Penelope is very selective which dogs she will bond with due to being attacked in a former foster home. A young non dominant dog would be a good match for her. We have no idea how she is with cats. She is very special and you will immediately fall in love with her.
Penelope does well with kids. She has not been cat tested as her foster home does not have cats.
If you are interested in adopting this special dog , a true underdog, please go to our website www.boxerbuttsandothermutts.org and fill out one of our adoption applications.
Penelope is spayed, current on heartworm prevention and flea/tick prevention, microchipped, current on vaccines, has had the surgery to repair her eyes, dewormed and has had a full bloodwork panel done. Her adoption fee is $250.00
We do not set up meet and greets until the application has been received and reviewed. We do require vet references and a home visit as well. All of our dogs are in private foster homes throughout Western North Carolina and Upstate South Carolina - we do not have a facility
Let's share this girl and find her the very best forever home - she so deserves it

Their adoption process

1.

Submit Application

Before we will schedule any meet and greets we require our adoption application to be filled out

2.

Once the application is received and vet reference is checked, the foster would call and tell you more about the pet

3.

Home Check

If both parties feel like it could be a good fit we would schedule a meet and greet at your home

Additional adoption info

Our fees are:
$250.00 (for All Ages)
*Unless otherwise noted

All of our rescues will be spay/neutered prior to adoption, unless they are under 6 months of age or recommended by our vet. All dogs will be micro chipped prior to adoption and come with a care package at the time of adoption

Our application process is as follows:
First an application should be filled out at our website www.boxerbuttsandothermutts.org on the Foster/Adoption Application page. A vet reference check is done to verify all the animals currently in the home are UTD on vaccines as well as Heart Worm Preventatives. A phone interview will be conducted, and the final step is a home check.

Go meet their pets

All of our rescues are fostered in separate homes, as we do not have a facility yet. We do have occasional adoption events, which can be found on our website calendar at www.boxerbuttsandothermutts.org or on our Facebook page at www.Facebook.com/boxerbuttsandothermutts

More about this rescue

We are located in Western North Carolina. We do adopt out of the area with transport, although, certain dogs have to be adopted locally, and that is always stated in the description. If you adopt a puppy out of our area or choose to use a different vet, we have an application amendment to be filled out as well for the spay/neuter & vaccine contract.
