Smudge is a sweet little boy with a heart full of curiosity and a personality that's impossible to ignore. Smudge is a goofball, always finding joy in the simplest things, like chasing after a piece of string or leaping at shadows. Smudge is fiercely independent, preferring to explore his surroundings on his own terms. His inquisitive nature leads him on many an adventure, and he's always eager to discover new things. Despite his independent streak, Smudge is a loving companion who enjoys the company of those who respect his space.

Rescue/Shelter Description

The Village Mews was founded to improve the lives of stray, abandoned and displaced cats and kittens in upstate SC. We are a 501(c)(3), non-profit, in-home foster rescue. Our felines reside in caring foster homes, where they thrive in safe indoor environments. Any cat that is accepted into our foster program will remain with a loving foster family until adopted. Our volunteers work patiently with each cat providing them with medical care, socialization and rehabilitation. Once our cats are socially acclimated, in good health and have completed their medical requirements they begin their journey to finding their perfect forever homes.
As a volunteer based non-profit, we depend on the generosity and support of our Village. We are grateful for all monetary donations as well as in-kind donations such as dry/ canned food and litter. We rely on private contributions to continue our rescue efforts.
