My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tanny is a gentle giant, about 80 pounds currently but still needs to gain weight. He was found as a stray and taken to a local shelter and placed into a run with two other large dogs. He stopped eating there and a wonderful woman who was following his story just knew she had to save him. She then contacted us as a foster to now find his forever home. Tanny is excellent on the leash, house trained, crate trained and very eager to please. He likes to run and play with other dogs and share space with his human companions. He does need a secure yard and would like to live with another friendly and playful dog.

PACA is a Foster-Based Rescue with no shelter.

We have adoption clinic on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month from 11a-2pm at 6300 San Mateo (along the grass next to Academy Rd) in the southern end of the Spouts Market parking lot volunteer staffing/weather permitting.

We can also make arrangements for a Private Meet-and-Greet with the foster parent and your household with approved applications. You can complete and easy online application here:

The $250 adoption fee covers S/N, microchip, vaccines and heartworm/tic borne illness testing.

More about this rescue

People’s Anti Cruelty Association / Albuquerque Animal Rescue (PACA), a No-Kill rescue group, was founded in 1973. Our main mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehouse homeless dogs and cats. PACA has no shelter facility and relies on an organized network of foster parents who graciously take animals into their homes and hearts until permanent homes are found.
