My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

- A very friendly boy who will come up to you to ask for pets all over his body

- Wants to be with his people all the time; excited to spend lots of time with his new family

- Loves treats and will vacuum them right up off the ground

- Walks nicely on a leash and enjoys going on walks around the shelter

- Recently got to spend some time with a human friend outside the shelter; enjoyed walking around the neighborhood, playing in the yard, and taking a nice nap afterwards

- Prefers to explore and do his own thing here in the shelter, but will likely open up more once he's in a home environment and has had time to decompress

- Shy pup who may need extra time to warm up to new people and things; will likely open up in a home environment with patience and time and may prefer a calm, quiet home

- Tends to avoid other dogs (dog intro recommended)

The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label.
