AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION - ANNIE
Annie is a beautiful lady, about 4 years old, looking for a new home and family of her own. Adopted by an elderly couple when she was a young pup, her owners' needs changed and they are no longer able to care for her. Heartbroken, they are hoping she will find another opportunity to be loved and cherished as she was in their home. Annie was said to be a Yorkie mix as a puppy, but she has grown to appear much different. She is about 20 pounds. She is sweet and gentle with a lot of love to give, though initially shy and hesitant until she feels comfortable with new people. Annie loves spending time with adult humans, and is nice to nice dogs, but will likely do better as an only pet. She doesn't understand or appreciate sharing her food and toys. She has not had exposure to children. We are seeking a home without young children and with owners who are quiet and lead a predictable lifestyle that Annie can learn to feel secure with. A home with a securely fenced yard is also sought. Annie is already spayed, microchipped and has been vaccinated. She is in good health, according to her vet.
Our adoption process starts with your email to carerescue@aol.com or Adopt a Pet inquiry. After we receive it, we will email you our prescreening questionnaire. Your answers will help us determine that your home and lifestyle matches the needs of both Annie and our adoption criteria. Once determined, we will set up a private meeting with you and your family to meet Annie at a park near our private kennel just east of Richmond. After meeting her and determining that she matches your preferences for a pet, we will accept your application. A home visit by one of our trained volunteers is required for all adoptions, and we will speak with your vet to ensure that you are a responsible pet owner.
