My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Deacon is a handsome, talkative fellow. He is somewhat independent in nature, but would LOVE to have a human that would engage in interactive play with him on a daily basis. Deacon does enjoy a cuddle, but isn't a cat that will linger on your lap for long. We suspect he would do well walking on a harness and leash, spending time safely outdoors with his family. Deacon will take the opportunity to escape out an open door, so he needs to be watched carefully when you are going in and out of the house. For this reason, and because he plays a bit rough, we do not recommend a home with young children (teens would be wonderful). We do not know how he would do with dogs. As far as cats go, he is combative with male cats but seems to do fine with females as long as they put him in his place.

More about this rescue

Camp Companion is a 501c3 organization established in 2003.

Based in Rochester MN, the organization is totally driven by volunteers.

Camp Companion is dedicated to providing low-cost spay and neuter services for feral, farm and stray companion animals. The organization is funded solely by donations, fundraisers, grants, and adoption fees. All funds we receive are used for veterinary expenses and the cost of care incurred for the animals waiting for their forever homes.

Through our spay / neuter efforts, we encounter kittens and stray domestic cats that need rescue services and a forever home. We have no shelter, but rely on foster homes to care for these rescued pets. Every animal we offer for adoption is spayed or neutered.
