My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My foster writes:
Hi I'm Memo! I am very shy and fearful of new environments but after I warm up, I am very affectionate and will always ask for head scratches and pets! I thrive in calm environments and have great potential to be friends with other household pets. Once I trust you, I will happily jump up to receive pets and paw at you if you stop midway through our petting session. I purr a lot when happy. I may be 13 years old but I still look like a little baby and I look forward to giving you lots of love!

My foster writes:
Hi, I'm Memo! I may be older than your average kitty, but I still have plenty of spring in my step and even more love to give. I am shy around strangers at first, but can be convinced to give you a chance very easily with a tasty treat. You will definitely appreciate my maturity: I stay off of countertops and am respectful of my humans' sleep schedules (i.e., no zooming into your bed at 2am)!
The one thing I love more than anything is to be pet; I'll jump up on my hind legs to offer you my head for scritches or reach out my paw to let you know I'm ready to receive some pets. Once we're good friends, I'll even roll over and show you my belly! I enjoy hanging out with my human by "loafing" next to them on the sofa so I can receive the occasional scratch. When it's playtime, I usually keep myself occupied with my toys but would love a visit from the mysterious laser pointer.
My main motivation is food, especially the seafood-flavored kind! Maybe, I was a fisherman in a previous life... When it's dinnertime I'll strike up a conversation with my human so we can chat about our days while they prepare my meal. Anytime I hear the crinkle of the treat bag, I'll come running. For a treat, I'll even do some tricks, like "spin"!
I'm the perfect companion cat who is looking for a human to spend my golden years with. If you're in the market for smart, cuddly, handsome gentleman, I'm your guy!

What my friends at ACC say about me:

Please check here for updated adoption hours.

Memo tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in an experienced, adult only home.

I have lived with cats.

I have been known to shower my favorite people in love!

I am finding the shelter a little overwhelming, but when it's just you and me and some peace and quiet you'll see what a love bug I am.
