When Hazel gets excited, she wiggles like a fish! So adorable!

How does Hazel show her love?
Hazel LOVES to meet new people. She will come up to people and ask for pets.

"My friends would say I'm silly and wiggly girl with a huge personality! I will do tricks for treats because food is the most wonderful thing in the whole wide world, right? But there's also running after my stuffie plush toys and scratching my back in the grass that are part of my top 10. Other dogs? I enjoy their company, but cats, hmm... they are good only for chasing. I do appreciate a human friend to lean on during stressful times as I make strides exploring outside my comfort zone.

If you show me love and earn my trust, I'll give it back and let you pet my tummy and sit next to you while we watch TV, like I do with my foster mom. Who knows-we may both experience the true power of love."

Established in 1929, Humane Society Silicon Valley (HSSV) offers quality adoptions, affordable spaying/neutering, vaccinations and microchipping services, pet care services and education programs to enhance the human-animal bond. HSSV operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We are the first organization in the country to meet the guidelines put forth by the Association of Shelter Veterinarians for standards of care for shelter animals: We are the first model shelter.

We are also the first animal community center in the nation to receive Gold LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.
