My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet handsome Major, an Alaskan Husky picked up by one of our officers on 4/28 and brought to the Mesquite Animal Shelter. He weighs 65 pounds and is approx 3 years old. There is conflicting information about his life before entering the shelter. Suffice to say he has been a stray and out and about on his own for some months. However, someone has been feeding him as he does not seem underweight. Also his nails have been recently clipped. The first day he was petrified and shut down and he would not walk on a leash. However, during the following days at the shelter one of our volunteers has been socializing him and has had him out daily walking on a leash and he is doing much better. He continues to be nervous and uneasy. He will need more socialization and encouragement in order to trust the shelter staff and volunteers. He does not show any aggression and is willing to be petted and loved on. He especially seems to love being gently massaged on his head. It seems to soothe and visibly relax him. Our volunteer that has committed to working with him and feels he will come around in time. The initial video will be followed up in a few days to record his progress.
