Aggie, a 3-6 yr old stray, came to live inside my basement after an injury 2 years ago. Though temperamental, she was a beauty and often sweet. I decided to tame her, but Aggie is paranoid around other cats. It’s near impossible for her to negotiate my house or property. (I have a dog downstairs, 2 cats upstairs, 4-6 strays outside.) She loves to sit on my lap, be petted on the head, and do Sudoku puzzles with me in bed. She will get testy and do low growls if she’s hungry or needs the bathroom, and when I carry her upstairs, past other critturs, to her safe haven in the attic. She won’t come in the house past other strays who hang out on the porch or in the driveway. She comes when called, and will hang with me outdoors in the garden all afternoon. Aggie would be a good companion for a single patient admirer who would lovingly talk to her, remind her of her status as queen of her new home with no other animals, clean cat boxes, good food, and sunny spots for a happy afternoon roll.
