Despite a hellish early life, Baxter is now a cheerful little guy. Inside, he loves to cuddle and get belly rubs, and he sleeps with me. Outside, he is happy for hours chewing on a bone with breaks for races around the yard. He runs faster than I've ever seen a dog of his size run (his full name is Faster Baxter).
He has learned to sit and stay (briefly), and he now understands he can get what he wants by obeying. He is still fearful of new people, masking this in aggressive displays you can interrupt by picking him up or speaking gently to him. He's doing quite well at walking on a leash.
When anxious, he runs in tight circles--I think he must have run in those tight circles inside a small cage most of his early life--but when calm, he's adorable.
I think he would do well with older children.
I adore this little guy but am only his foster Mom. Please get in touch if you might want to be his forever Mom or Dad, or if you just have questions about him.
