My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Who will be the lucky family to welcome handsome Blake into their lives? Blake was rescued from a crowded shelter we partner with in NC. He is about 7-10 months old, weighs currently 45 lb and may be 50+ after growing some more. He has good calm puppy energy.
He is being fostered with 2 other dogs, and gets along wonderfully with them. He loves running around the yard with them, playing catch me if you can. His foster Mom taught him to sit and they are working on his walking skills.
We don't have any experience with Blake and cats or children, but we believe he would probably do well with children 5 and up. He has no guarding issues with his foster siblings, shares toys and beds. He is crate trained and housebroken.
Blake has a sweet personality and would do well with another playful dog or he also would be fine as the only dog. A home with a secure fenced yard is preferred. He seems mellow, but a family that would give him the exercise and activity level he would need to be a good balanced dog.
If you would like to meet Blake or find out more about him, please email:

More about this rescue

West Jersey Volunteers for Animals (WJVA) is a non-profit group formed in 1998 by four volunteers determined to improve quality of life and medical care for homeless animals. We do not have a facility and rely on foster homes for the dogs we rescue from crowded shelters. Our adoption fees and donations are used to pay for our medical expenses. We spend thousands of dollars every year on saving homeless animals.

Our group is all volunteers with years of experience providing homeless animals with love, exercise, medical care, foster homes, training, and socialization. During the past 20 years, our group gained a great deal of wonderful contacts and support in the areas of general animal care, veterinary care, pet grooming and boarding, training, resolution of pet behavior problems, food donations, and fundraising. We are dedicated to continue to build our community partnerships to carry on our work on behalf of homeless animals.
