My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Animaldefense Rescue.org [ADR.org] will have six puppies – end of May.

MEET PAOLO- Male

DNA of the puppy is 50% Shar-Pei, followed by Chow, German Shepherd and Akita making up the other 50%.
All puppies posted were born to FLUFFY (also posted) on 2/28. They are now (week of April 29) 9 weeks old.

All puppies are still in a foster home in CA but are transported WA and then picked up my founder of ADR.org to bring home to Orcas Island, WA. ETA end of May.

All puppies have a wonderful personality, are thriving and putting weight on (weight is around 10-12 lbs. now). There are more females than male puppies- see individual postings.

To start the adoption process, it will be necessary for you to fill out the proper ADR.org application. Please send us an email to ADR@animaldefenserescue.org so that ADR.org has your email address to send you an application.

Puppies will be fully vaccinated for Distemper and Parvo and have microchips by the time they are going in an adoption home. They will not be altered though, as they are too young at that point.

Interested parties who have already raised a puppy and are not absent from home most of the day are preferred as the first months of puppyhood are crucial to make the puppy a sociable, potty trained, and balanced dog.

ADR.org looks forward to hearing from you.

Additional adoption info

Adopters will request an application by sending an email to : ADR@animalDefenserescue.org

Each prospective owner fills out an adoption application. All applicants must live in WA (exceptions are possible), and we ask that children in your home are at least ten years old. We usually have limited information of history of our rescue dogs and are therefore very careful about placing them in households with children.
We require that everyone in the immediate family, including your current dog (if you have one) come to the appointment to meet your potential new dog. Adopting a dog is a big family decision and requires a commitment from everyone.
At the appointment, we will help you assess whether the dog is a good match for you and family or not.

Before you bring your new dog home, you must sign an Adoption agreement with Animal Defense Rescue. In addition, a $ 375$ adoption fee is requested. The adoption donation is non-refundable.
Please remember that adoption contributions barely cover our expenses and only defray the costs. Additional donations are greatly appreciated and will help us continue our life-saving work.
Step 4: Post Adoption Follow Up
Our goal is to help you enjoy life with your new dog to the fullest extent possible. If issues arise, or you just need some good advice, we are happy to do follow-up counseling by telephone or in person. We can also suggest local dog trainers.

More about this rescue

AnimalDefense Rescue is a small non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing primarily dogs from high-kill shelters in mostly CA, as well as homeless, lost and abandoned animals in WA , and rehoming from owners who can no longer care for them for important reasons. By building and working with the rescued dogs at her home, the founder and president assures asessment, training and rehabilitation . ADR.org works with local veterinarians to make sure future adoption homes will have a clean and complete health record for the adopted dog, ADR.org finds well-matched, and carefully screened adopters and adoption homes to ensure the dog will NEVER be returned to a shelter again in his lifetime.
AnimalDefense Rescue will serve as a resource to pet owners by providing education and information on responsible pet ownership, including the importance of spay/neuter, positive behavior training, and good nutrition.
