My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Woof woof! My name is Cappy! A little about me...The first thing people always notice about me is My loving affection & personality and my beautiful coloring!I match your energy; I love to go on short walks & chew my indestructible toys, but I also love to snuggle on the sofa. I'm up for whatever makes you happy! As far as people go... Man, I love people. I can't get enough! All shapes & sizes, I love them all. I get along with other dogs just fine, but I could take 'em or leave 'em. I'll be happy with other dogs or as an only pup!. My favorite things on this earth are: squeaky toys, people who scratch behind my ears, and SNUGGLES. Yep, I'm easy to please! When I play with my toys, I'm super focused on them and since I only have one eye I may jump up and knock over a small toddler- not on purpose though... sorry. Some more important details: I haven't met any kitties yet, but if you have a cat and are interested in adopting me, do the application and GK will be happy to do a cat test! I'm learning how to be housetrained and am trying so hard! An ideal day for me would start out with sleeping in together with you, (in your bed or on my bed in the floor)...then we would eat, play a game of fetch in the backyard and we could cap off the day with curl up on the sofa to watch a movie with my favorite humans. What will make me happiest in my forever home will be to feel safe and loved... finally! I guess you can say I'm a loyal, adorable dog just looking for someone to love me. I weigh about 26 lbs and am an estimated 3 years old. If you want to meet me, please do an application at http://adoptadog.gkpetrescue.org. That's always the first step to adopting! Then the folks at Good Karma can put you in touch with my foster family so we can meet! My adoption fee is on my listing on the Good Karma website. The fee includes spay/neuter, vaccinations, 4DX (heartworm) testing, and microchip. It also includes a post-adoption wellness visit with a GK partner vet of your choice.

Adoption fee includes DHPP vaccine, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate) heartworm testing, spay/neuter surgery, deworming, wellness vet visit, one month of pet insurance and microchip. All animals are examined by a veterinarian. Please fill out our application at https://gkarma.wufoo.com/forms/good-karma-pet-rescue-dog-adoption-screening/ if you would like to adopt or meet this dog, and we will be in touch right away!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We have a quick but thorough adoption process. We ask you to fill out an application and we will touch base with you by phone. If we feel you are a good fit for the animal you would like to adopt based upon your application, we will want to do a home visit and have you meet the pet. If everything checks out, we will ask that you sign an adoption contract and pay a donation - usually $75 for cats and $150 for dogs. This includes all vetting, spay/neuter, vaccines, etc.

Our contract allows us to come visit you and your new family member after the adoption to make sure everything is going well and your new pet is happy & healthy.

Go meet their pets

We meet potential adopters by appointment only, typically in the foster's or potential adopter's home. Dogs can be arranged to be seen at a local park or a similar location.

More about this rescue

Good Karma Pet Rescue is a small network of foster homes in South Florida dedicated to providing dogs and cats in need with the love and help they need and deserve.

GK was started in 2011 by Stacey Chen, who decided that she could best provide for her foster animals by starting a rescue that aims for best care rather than high volume. We intend to stay as small as we need to be to ensure that every one of our foster animals is treated with the same care and respect we show our own furry family.

GK is based in Fort Lauderdale and is supported by wonderful, dedicated foster parents throughout the South Florida area. If you are interested in helping to save lives through volunteering, fostering, or adopting, please get in touch with us!
