Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is Smoke. I’m a 4 month old heeler mix ready to meet my forever family. I’m a bit shy at first, but I warm up very quickly and am absolutely full of love and lots of puppy energy. I love to play with toys, run around and explore outside. I love other dogs and would do best in a home with higher energy companions. I’d love a fenced yard to run out my energy or an active family to keep me moving! I don’t love my crate, mostly because it means you’re not playing with me (and I love attention) but I do well in it after a few minutes. I’m working on learning leash skills and growing into the best boy I can be. I can’t wait to meet you!

We place the dogs in the best home not the first home. Please be patient while we go over all apps and we will be in touch.

We are foster based. You must apply on Crossyourpaws.com first. If your application is chosen as the best fit for the dog we will move forward with the approval process. Once approved you will be setup with a time to meet the dog. Our dogs are all over the greater Pittsburgh area.

Here at Cross Your Paws Rescue, we are driven by a single goal; to save lives. We are doing our part in making the world a better place for all pets. Our decision to start a rescue is not one that we have taken lightly, it has come after years of volunteer work with other groups. Our goal is to make this world a place where starving, abused animals is a thing of the past. That shelters filled with dogs and cats waiting to be euthanized is unheard of. We want euthanasia to be something to help pets on their way to the Rainbow bridge not to end lives because of overpopulation. We vow to save every life that we can.
