I came to Colonial Capital Humane Society in January 2024 after living the last 7 years as a stray. In 2017 I was abandoned when my family moved out of our house. I am a gentle giant weighing in at about 150 lbs. I am the calmest, sweetest dog you will ever meet. I am very dog and kid friendly but not the playful type. I enjoy being around others and relaxing. I am a sweet, gentle old man, who is house trained and great on a leash. Additional adoption info

The adoption application is located on our website. Home visits will be made and vet references must be provided. There is an adoption fee on all animals that helps to offset the cost of veterinary care and spay/neuter of the animal.

To view the dogs, please fill out an application and we will schedule a time that works for you!

Our shelter is located at 1860 Old Airport Road in New Bern, NC. We are open on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 12-6pm to view cats.

Kitten adoption events are held most Saturdays at PetSmart (Wal-Mart shopping center) in New Bern from 11am - 2pm.
