You may remember that she was found outside of Homer, shot in the face and hip. Her jaw was totally shattered and her mouth is misshapen but Maria is amazing. Although she can't close her mouth and she does tend to drool, she has overcome all obstacles and is living her best life.
Maria is a love! She loves to have a cat friend to play with. (A lot of cats is too much for her). Best with no dogs. But mid age kind children, that might be a must for her new home. She loves attention, the kind that hangs out with her and with play toys with her, and go outside with her while she explores the yard. She is not a lap cat or pick me up cat but she is full of the spirit of life and love. And she needs a settled family who is the same. She will make you happy.
She is probably a couple years old, ready to set out in the world for a great family where she has all the things that bring joy--a cat buddy and playmate, kids that are kind, and a safe yard.

We require that adopters sign our adoption contract and a legally binding no-declawing agreement. There is an adoption fee. Most adult cats are $80 except for those who are sponsored or part of a special. Kittens under 8 months are $145. All adults are spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Kittens are adopted at 12 weeks of age or older and are spayed/neutered prior to adoption.

We each give what we can to help these cats get through this most unfortunate time in their lives when they have been taken to the pound or are otherwise lost and homeless. Some of us share our homes with these cats while they are waiting for their forever family, some transport them from place to place, some host adoption fairs, take pictures, post ads. Some offer financial help. We each do what we can to help. And through this dedicated group of people, more than a thousand cats have been saved and found loving homes.
