Eddie appears to be smiling and even possibly laughing in some of this photos. That's because he's a happy boy and will be even happier when he has a new family to love! Eddie is a two-year-old 66 pound Shar-Pei/lab/pit mix that arrived at the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 4/29 as a stray. He's got beautiful reddish blonde coloring. He's sweet, affectionate, and a happy-tail wagging boy. He's also very alert, enthusiastic, active and very playful. He loves toys and will entertain himself with them either by throwing them up in the air or by chewing them. Once he's engrossed in a toy it's hard to get his attention. I was able to get his attention when I offered him a treat. He sits for treats and takes them gently. He is well mannered. He does not jump on you and he wants to please. He would do best with an active family with a big yard for him to play in. I suspect he's housebroken as he did his business immediately upon getting into the yard. He walks OK on a leash. He didn't have a problem meeting other dogs. However, if you have another dog we suggest you ask the shelter for a dog test. Eddie is just a big love bug that wants to be cherished like he deserves. He would love to be an inside dog most of the time enjoying his new family.
