Guinea Pig located in this city:Port Orange

Guinea Pig’s Name: Chuchu/Chooch

Guinea Pigs Age & Sex: Female, 3 months old

Guinea Pigs vetting history
CHU-Chu has seen vet, healthy overall (no medical issues) and is female but is NOT spayed. This is why we would like her to go to a home with either a FIXED male guinea pig or a female .

Animals story: (where found and reason for wanting to rehome): Sadly the brother and companion of chu-Chu passed away and she has been alone. We feel she would do better in a home with another guinea pig friend to keep her company. We considered getting another piggie friend for her but have another baby due soon and it’s too much of an undertaking at the moment with time and finances. Would love her to go to a great home with female companion or neutered male.

Personality (shy, social, likes to be held, lap guinea pigs Likes or dislikes): Chooch seems playful and curious (love toys and treats) but she is still young so still a little shy and skittish at times when trying to pick her up until handled more often. She does take treats from our hands and seems to like pets while sitting in our lap. You can pick her up and she seems to like roaming out of her cage (usually in a rolling ball and exploring) She doesn’t seem to like fast movements or really loud noises.

Any Supplies that go with pet (food, litter, bedding, toys): cage which has food bowl and water bottle, guinea pig pellets and hay for food as well as vitamin C treats, toys and a sleeping/cuddling igloo and bedding/fleece mats for cage liners.
I can text you a photo of cage if needed.

What food is the guinea pig  eating (dry only, dry and wet): 75% hay, they seem to like Timothy and Orchard hay (fresh hay must be always provided and dry guinea pig pellets about 1/8 cup each day per piggie. Can also supplement vitamin C treats each day or fresh fruits and veggies. Check for guinea pig safe options before providing and go slowly when adding fruits and veggies.

IF YOU WANT TO ADOPT:
1) Please show up with a guinea pig carrier
2) Small adoption fee of: $100
3) I will call/text one month from adoption day just to make sure everything is going well
4) Please show up with your Driver's License.
5) Information sheet will be filled out (your information as well as mine)
*Please know, that when you bring your newly adopted guinea pig home, it is always BEST to place them in a quiet area of the home and go slowly when trying to interact until they can have time to adjust to new environment and people. Avoid trying to chase them around the cage for pets or to pick up. Let them come to you by slowly leaving your hand in the cage and not moving it or trying to hand feed and they will eventually come around and trust you. Avoid keeping them in bedrooms as they can be active at night and may keep someone up as they do make noises and run around etc. All guinea pigs need time to adjust, so if you adopt please allow this. Thank you._____________________________________________________

More about this rescue

Furry Nation Salvation, Inc. is a foster based all-volunteer non-profit animal rescue organization located in Florida. We commit our resources throughout Volusia County and surrounding areas in finding permanent homes for abandoned, unwanted, and neglected animals. Run by dedicated volunteers, our work is a heartfelt collaboration in making a difference for the innocent animals without a voice. Our foster volunteers “one on one” care help us to determine the animals true personality to best fit them into their forever home. We also promote, practice, and work, in the area of TNR (trap, neuter, return). This method of population reduction and control for feral cats has proven to be successful and we are committed to this method. FNS strives to educate the public on the importance of spay and neutering their pets and provide locations where they are able to do so at a discounted price. We assist in transporting animals to and from veterinary clinics, and help individuals place their unwanted pet who would otherwise be dumped at an animal shelter with an uncertain future. We do so by utilizing social media and animal adoption sites and always making ourselves available with support and advice. We love what we do and together we make a difference for so many. Furry Nation Salvation does not have a facility and rely on foster homes for our rescued animals. Our current goal is to establish a dedicated rescue facility to be able to help even more animals in need.
