My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Glave! Our sweet pal who has a lotta heart!
At first a bit reserved, Glave quickly blossomed as he learned to trust his friends at the shelter.
He has remarkable leash manners and a calm demeanor during walks. His love for the outdoors is palpable! Glave loves lounging on the grass and rolling around.
This easy going boy is a perfect companion for car rides, he's ready to enjoy ant journey. Glave is ready to become the cherished companion you've been searching for.

Eligible for rescue, foster, and adoption. Meet Glave at ACCT Philly any day of the week from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., or email foster@acctphilly.org to express interest in fostering him.

Behavioral notes:
5/8/24 per volunteer overnight notes: Glave was a pleasure to have for a sleep over. He adjusted to the new enviroment quickly and was very curious about everything.
When we left the house to go for a walk he was timid at first but gained his confidence back during the walk. Very interested in other dogs and barked a little bit at some to get their attention . Walked without any problems on the leash. He followed us around the house a lot and was a little mouthy, but just wanted to give kisses. His favourite activety was hanging out with my husband in front of TV and watching him making some repairs in the house. He is eager to learn and I think he will go with the flow in a group.

5/3/24 staff notes: Glave got to meet another dog today, Knight. They were both excited to greet each other and pulled strongly toward each other. Glave greeted with a neutral body and a mid level wagging tail. Knight hovered over Glave a bit but Glave took it well. At one point Glave attempted to mount Knight and Knight gave a very minor correction (spun around and muzzle booped) and Glave took the correction well. Towards the end they started jumping and trying to play with each other, but Glave's eyes got hard so we separated them. Overall, I think both dogs could definitely have some dog friends as long as there are slow introductions.

5/2/24 staff notes: Glave was brought into our office to go on a day trip today and he is doing well! He was a little hesitant when he came in but slowly approached people in the office with a wagging tail before lightly jumping on them to give kisses.

5/2/24 volunteer day trip notes: Glave did an amazing job on the leash He walked at a very calm paste and not once did he pull! He loves the grass and will lay next to you and roll on it all day long if you let him. Glave does great in the car, he takes treats nicely but does get a bit mouthy when you play with him. He would bark at certain people that would walk by But overall he's a very calm and loving boy that will shower you with kisses if you let him.

5/1/24 volunteer notes: Glave was hesitant to leave the kennel at first and had a little bit of whale eye, but eagerly took hotdogs and was very easily leashed after his interest in treats. He walked a little slow and hesitant through the kennels, but with some light leash pressure came with me. Definitely shy at first but not too bad. He's very food motivated. Once we had a few minutes together he opened up quickly. He jumped up to give kisses and took pets all over- he even leaned into me for some more loving.
