Meet Rosebud, an adult dog with a heart full of love. Her personality is a delightful mix of shy and outgoing sunshine, creating a charming blend that's impossible to resist. Rosebud is cuddly and sweet, she is never hesitant to share her affection in the most gentle way possible with those she trusts. Not only is she a great dog but she LOVES her walks and does really well on the leash. She also enjoys playtime with her canine friends when she's not seeking for love or treats. Rosebud is a dog who loves unconditionally and has a lot to give. Her infectious enthusiasm and love for life make every day brighter. We also have adoptable cats at FIVE PetSmart locations! PetSmart Tinley Park, PetSmart Orland Hills, PetSmart Matteson, PetSmart Crestwood and the PetSmart in Evergreen Park are all key adoption partners where many of our adoptable kittens and cats are housed until they find their forever homes.

More about this shelter

The South Suburban Humane Society is a 501(c )(3) organization that was started in 1970, serving the animal welfare needs of the entire south suburbs of Chicago. In the beginning, we handled all rescues, adoptions and provided foster care out of private homes. Since November 1973, our organization has been operating a 10,000 square foot open-door animal shelter in Chicago Heights, Illinois.

For over fifty years, our organization has helped tens of thousands of animals. We offer extensive outreach programs including humane education, and community outreach events. We also operate a resale shop located in Steger, Illinois that promotes our organization, our animals and provide much needed income to support our humane work.

The Mission of the South Suburban Humane Society is to protect and promote the well being of pets and their people in our community and beyond.
