Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Finley, the Halfsky! He's half a husky, literally! While we are sure he must be mixed with something, he looks like a full-sized husky was shrunk down in a dryer. He's the cutest peanut weighing 27 lbs and he's full grown! Finley is about 2 years old. He was running around the streets of Whiting before a good Samaritan stopped to get him out of the road.
Here's what we know about Finley - he's a pretty happy-go-luck guy! He LOVES kids, he loves to play, he has loved every dog we've introduced him to, he loves cats, and he;s even good with the ferrets in his foster home. We've had him neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Finley does have a quirk, he's got a neurologic tick that means he pretty much turns to the right all the time. He circles to the right, it's just his thing! He did test positive for Lyme disease (which he's been treated for). We've had him to the vet several times. We have done bloodwork and tests and multiple exams. There is nothing apparently wrong with him. It's possible he was perhaps hit by a car at some point and had a head injury, the Lyme could have played a part, we will never know his history. What we DO know is that it does not affect him AT ALL! He loves to run and play and get belly rubs, he has no idea he's a little lopsided :) He is housebroken and per his foster family, just a perfect little nugget of a guy! Fin's adoption fee is $250.

Their adoption process
Additional adoption info
Our adoptions start with an application and approval process. Most of our adult dogs have an adoption fee of $250, regardless of how much medical attention they have received (some of them cost us substantially more than that, all of our rescues are thoroughly vetted and treated for any illness before being adopted out). You must be 21 adopt from us.
We prefer a fenced in yard but it's not required. All people in the household must be present for adoption and we request that you at least spend 45 minutes with the pet of your choice before making the commitment to take them home
EVERY adoption includes spay or neuter. Check around; not everyone includes the price of surgery, even if it's required. Our donation for dogs also includes: first shots, heartworm test if over 6 months, and rabies shot (at time of surgery if too young). Most are also microchipped. Cats come with surgery cost included, first shots, FIV test, and nail trim. We do NOT allow our cats to be declawed!

More about this rescue
We are a foster style rescue. Our pets live with us, so we know more about them than the average shelter. We have a variety of homes that include other dogs, cats, kids, etc.
Spaying and neutering is the absolute best way to curb pet overpopulation. We believe in low cost spay and neuter and can provide info on low cost surgeries.
We also believe pet nutrition and vaccine awareness can keep your best friend healthy for life. Our fosters are fed high quality food. We encourage people to explore the nutritional value of pet food and make the best decision for their pets.
