What is Rehome?
If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
Since Romeo was a puppy, he has had resource guarding issues, protecting both food and his most prized humans. He is great with our nuclear family and people who are dog people (understand big dogs and aggression issues). He has had extensive training and is house trained, but we have come to terms with the fact that the resource guarding cannot be trained out of him as he has bitten a neighbor recently.
To the people he loves, Romeo is extremely cuddly and sweet and wants lots of attention. He is a great companion.
We have two small children and while we are not worried about their safety, we don’t have the capacity to make sure that he is always where he should be and fear he is a liability to neighbors.
We are hoping Romeo can find a home somewhere off the beaten path with people who have experience with aggressive dogs and who have the ability to manage his behaviors. He is truly the sweetest boy when managed well.
