Meet Fern! This little love bug is looking for her forever home! A curious and sprightly little girl, Fern is always looking for adventure. She is good with other animals (dogs and cats) and is incredibly sweet with strangers and friends alike. She is working on potty training and kennel training and both look promising. She likes to go for walks, and isn't too bad on a leash, though the more she walks, the better she'll get. She loves toys and chewies and kisses, and will want to follow her person around to ensure optimum love. This sweet girl will be available to go home after she is spayed on May 7th!

Approximate Birthdate: Feb 2024

Adoption Fee: $200

TARA's adoption fee includes: spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, heartworm test (if age appropriate), heartworm and flea prevention, and deworming. TARA's pets are all eligible for a TWO WEEK TRIAL.

Due to the fact that many of our dogs come from the local city shelters, we do not know the background of many of them and therefore cannot always guarantee age or breed. Size is subjective but we use the following guidelines: Small 1-20 pounds, Med 20-50 pounds, Large 50-80 pounds, Extra Large over 80 pounds.

The first step to meet or adopt any of our animals is to fill out a no-commitment application online. This is normally followed up with a meeting between your family and the animal, and a home visit. Adoption fees range from $75 to $300. Please visit our website (TarasDream.org) for more information about our adoptable pet including bios, more photos, and each pet's adoption fee. If an animal is not listed on our website, they are no longer available for adoption.

More about this rescue

A non-profit 501C3, all volunteer group dedicated to helping homeless pets in the Greater Kansas City area. Our organization is the result of an alliance between several rescuers in the Kansas City region who share the same goal of ending animal suffering and homelessness.

Although we are foster home based, we also lease several kennels at a local boarding facility. Although this little "shelter" is allowing us to save many more lives, it is an added expense which is why we rely so heavily on generous donations from caring people in the community.

In addition to rescuing pets from difficult situations, we offer courtesy listings in Pet Finder, facilitate low-cost spays and neuterings, work on transfers and transports with existing rescue groups, help individuals and organizations promote, screen and educate potential adopters, fund raise to help pets with special needs, offer guidance and information about animal rescue, organize events, etc.
