My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Delilah is a beautiful shy and gentle cat and is the young grandmother to Raven Little Bear and Bunny. They were all born outside as community cats and Delilah was co-parenting the 3 kittens with her daughter who passed away in September. Delilah is a brave and gentle soul and she diligently took over to keep the 3 kittens together and safe. She is deeply bonded with her grandsons so after her spay and having her ear clipped there was just no way she could be turned back outside to that life. She continues to groom the growing boys and to snuggle with them when they need it. She keeps quiet watch with her big beautiful eyes while the boys play or take their little cat naps. Having to foster them in a small space has made socializing her easier. Every day from the safety of behind the toilet or inside her open carrier she receives pets and scritches on her head face and ears and she now loves a nice firm massage down her back and on her shoulders. She happily takes Churu by hand and she gently accepts hand-fed kitty treats. She is almost ready to play a little. Delilah is slowly learning that people can be kind. She has a long way to go but she has already come so far. With the right loving parent or couple to show her patience and give her a safe accepting and loving forever home Delilah will continue to learn to relax and accept love and she will have the best life that she never imagined. Delilah will need to be adopted together with one of her family in order to thrive and she and Little Bear are deeply bonded and both have such gentle natures. Bring them home and make them family and enjoy knowing you are saving precious lives while teaching a special shy kitty to trust.

More about this rescue

Kitten Rescue is a non-profit, volunteer-run organization devoted to finding loving homes for unwanted, homeless cats and kittens. We rescue cats and kittens from the streets of Los Angeles and from City Shelter euthanasia. Since our start in 1997, we have grown into one of the largest, most well-respected animal welfare groups in LA.

Kitten Rescue volunteers adopt out over 2,000 cats and kittens into homes every year. We educate the public about responsible pet guardianship, how to care for kittens and cats, and the importance of spaying and neutering. Kitten Rescue makes educational material available via events, print, school presentations and here on our website. We also provide Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) assistance for communities in and around Los Angeles, and teach people how to manage and care for feral cat colonies.
