Short, spunky, and chunky, Sugarplum is the real deal. It takes some time for her to warm up to strangers, but don’t be fooled - she doesn’t need babying! Underneath her shy exterior, she’s just a (meat)ball of saucy, silly, curious, confidence that will make anyone swoon.
She makes her foster parents laugh every day, and has SO much love to give (just wait until you get your first tail wag or face lick - you’ll never look back). Just when you think she’s really opened up, she’ll do something new that shows how brave and adventurous she is. When she’s not busy learning the ropes or goofing around, all this girl wants is a belly rub and couch snuggles.
Sugarplum is medium energy, walks great on a leash, and has done very well with her two foster brothers. She’s almost potty trained and sleeps happily through the night in her crate - within seconds all you can hear is her gentle, fluttering snore. She thrives with consistency, positive reinforcement, and encouragement to dabble outside her comfort zone. She would be happy as a solo dog, but would benefit from another well-adjusted dog(s) in the house.
Once she comes out of her shell, it’s obvious that this girl is meant to be social, confident, well rounded, and proud of herself. She needs a family who will see her for the amazing dog she is and not the fearful one she was forced to be, and will invest in her as much as she’ll invest in them. She’s truly the best and worth every minute.
