My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Smudge!

Age: 9 weeks Gender: Female Breed: Mix (exact breed mix unknown) Coat: Short Size: Medium (when fully grown)

Smudge is an adorable 9-week-old puppy who will steal your heart with her playful spirit and affectionate nature. With her charming personality and wagging tail, she's sure to be the perfect addition to any loving family.

This sweet girl adores people and thrives on human companionship. Whether it's cuddling on the couch or playing fetch in the yard, Smudge is always eager to be by your side, soaking up all the love and attention you have to give.

Not only is Smudge great with people, but she's also a friend to all creatures, big and small. She gets along famously with cats and is gentle and patient with kids, making her an ideal companion for families of all shapes and sizes.

While Smudge's exact breed mix remains a mystery, one thing's for sure—she's destined to be a medium-sized beauty with a short coat that's easy to care for. With her spay surgery completed and vaccinations up to date, she's already on the path to a happy and healthy life.

Smudge is also microchipped, providing an extra layer of security and peace of mind for her future family.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

1. All of the dogs (and cats) adopted from RezQ Dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, de-wormed, and microchipped prior to adoption. Many of the dogs also received additional veterinary care if needed.
2. RezQ Dogs houses its dogs in private foster homes and at our facility which is open by appointment only. We do require an approved application on file prior to scheduling a meet and greet with the dog. At that point, the adopters can take the dog home.
3. Adoption fees are as follows:
- $150 for dogs over 1 year of age
- $200 for dogs under 1 year of age
- $75 for cats
4. While RezQ Dogs does allow out of state adoptions, we do limit the distance between the potential adopters and our location in Dodson, MT, to within a 12 hour drive.
5. Due to our limited staff and volunteers, RezQ Dogs is unable to transport dogs to their forever homes or meet adopters part way. RezQ Dogs does not ship dogs via airlines or ground transportation. We ask the adopters to meet the dogs in person prior to adoption rather than having someone pick up the dog for them in order to ensure the right fit for both humans and dogs.
6. Please download our adoption application here: www.rezqdogs.org/adopt , fill it out, and email it to adoptions.rezqdogs@gmail.com Make sure your application is complete and all of the phone numbers are provided as INCOMPLETE applications will not be considered. You will not be contacted if any information on the application is missing. We simply lack the manpower and time to track down the information we ask for in the first place.
7. RezQ Dogs makes every effort to reply to adoption inquiries and process applications within 1 week of receiving them.

More about this rescue

RezQ Dogs was founded in 2009 because our community’s only No-Kill shelter was unable to handle the high volume of animals in local Animal Control facilities. RezQ Dogs focuses on getting these "at risk" dogs out of immediate danger and into rescues and approved adoptive homes. At this time, RezQ Dogs does not have ifacility open to the public. Appointments can be made to meet the dogs by contacting Anita at adoptions.rezqdogs@gmail.com
