Why I need a new home

Behavioral issues

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Pokito is a healthy, neutered 3 year old. He needs to be rehomed because my 85 yo mom is not able manage him. House trained and sleeps in a playpen at night. Loves playing fetch, getting treats and having belly rubbed by his trusted person.

Did not receive good training/socialization early, so prefers to be the one to initiate contact with people. If new people come into his space/walk by when he is on a walk, he barks aggressively. He does have a bite history if he does not agree with how he is being cleaned or handled. Barking behavior was unintentionally reinforced from an early age. He has made significant progress in all areas with good training using high value treats and a citronella collar. However, my mom cannot keep up reinforcement needed to properly manage his behavior or walk him.

Pokito will do best in a house with no children or other pets. He needs someone with time and willingness to work with him to reinforce his good/sweet behaviors and minimize bad behaviors
