My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Serenity!

The sweet and sensitive 1-year-old Pitbull mix weighing 44 lbs, ready to bring love and tranquility to her forever home!
Serenity finds joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially playing with her beloved rope toys. Her gentle nature and affectionate demeanor make her a wonderful companion for those seeking a calming presence in their lives.

If there are children in Serenity's forever home, she'll feel most comfortable with older kids ages 13 and up. Her sensitivity calls for a nurturing environment where she can thrive and build trust at her own pace.
Serenity shows potential to live harmoniously with another dog in her forever home, provided they're a good match for her sensitive nature. With proper introductions and compatibility, she'll happily welcome a furry friend into her life.

Are you ready to provide Serenity with the loving and understanding home she deserves? If you're seeking a gentle and affectionate companion who values serenity and tranquility, Serenity is the perfect match for you!

Call 330-487-0333 ext 226 to schedule an appointment and begin the adoption process. Bring home Serenity and experience the peaceful bond of unconditional love today!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

All of our adoptable animals are up-to-date on all age appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, de-wormed, de-flea and microchipped before adoptions are finalized. All dogs over six months of age receive a temperament assessment by our Certified Professional Dog Trainer to ensure appropriate placement. Also, many animals in our care receive basic obedience training to improve manners and increase adoptability.

We are currently doing adoptions by appointment only. Please contact us by phone at (234) 212-9843 or email at adoptions@summithumane.org, and an adoption counselor will return your message. They will review our adoption process, answer any questions, and tell you more about the animals currently available for adoption at our shelter and in our foster program. If we have a match for you and your family, an appointment will be scheduled to meet the animal.

Additional questions can be directed to our adoption team at (234) 212-9843.

More about this shelter

Since 1968, the Humane Society of Summit County (HSSC) has been the trusted caretaker and advocate for Summit County’s victims of animal abuse, neglect, and abandonment and stray animals suffering from illness and injury. We employ two full-time Humane Officers who respond to emergency calls, investigate animal cruelty, and, as warranted, prosecute offenders. We protect and care for our community’s abused, discarded, and forgotten animals. We strive every day to rehabilitate our rescued animals, find them great homes, and provide them with bright futures.
