CALL FOR DETAILS
This pet is available for adoption in a foster home.

To adopt this pet, please call us at 619-299-7012.

How this pet arrived:
Zed was brought in by her previous owner on February 3, 2024.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Zed is a hamster who is looking for a home to call her own. Zed is a busy little hammy who dreams of having her own place where she can have plenty of space to burrow, forage, and chew! Look up a "DIY hamster bin cage" for a roomy and inexpensive hamster home! Hamsters need a LOT of daily enrichment to keep themselves from becoming bored. Zed needs a large amount of room (450 square inches) with plenty of bedding (6 inches) to dig intricate tunnels where she can do secret hamster things away from prying eyes. Zed would love to find a human who will spend time slowly building a bond of trust and love with her! We recommend doing plenty of research before bringing this cute hammy home. Ask an Adoption Counselor to learn more about hamsters today so that you can start engineering some cardboard creations!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
