Nala is a 4 year old hound mix who came to the shelter as an owner surrender. Evidently the neighbors had a problem with her "hound music" and complained. It was a heartbreaking scenario for both Nala and her owners as she was very loved. We don't mind any hound sound - it's music to our ears! She is microchipped and her fee is $150. She has been completely vet checked and spayed.
Nala is a very loving and gentle girl. Yes, she is a hound so a bit of noise might come with the territory. Because of this she would do best in a home in which she's not left alone for long hours. She will require consistent exercise to drain her energy a bit. She lived in a home with kids and we think she would do well with other dogs. Cats? No way of knowing. Hounds generally make good companions. They are awesome!
NOTE: Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. Keep an eye on your emails if you apply.
We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South.
We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventative, and spayed or neutered.
