Fun bio: I’m Elmo, a red nose pit mix with a heart of gold, a huge smile, and a ray-of-sunshine personality. In fact, Walking on Sunshine should be my theme song. I was in the shelter for a long time, so I am still working on my house manners and getting used to all the things that happen in a house but I’m really smart, pick up on training quickly (though I could definitely use more training!), and I’m so happy all the time. I can be a little shy when I meet new people but once I know you, you’ll get all the love and doggie kisses you can handle. I have four doggie siblings and three human kid siblings in my foster home, and I love them all. Sometimes I love them a little too much and don’t always understand when they don’t want to play. There are no cats in my foster home but the people at the shelter said that I’m good with cats. I have lots of puppy energy and would love an active home and a doggie companion to run and play with. If you’re looking for a happy, goofy, and loyal addition to your family, I am your guy!

Go meet their pets

Meet our pets through our website, Facebook and fundraisers throughout Southern WI. We are an all foster based rescue and do not have a physical shelter.

More about this rescue

Hoping Fur A Home is a volunteer run dog rescue organization serving the Southern, WI area. We are dedicated to rescuing dogs left homeless for whatever reason – dogs in public shelters where they are at high risk of euthanasia due to pet overpopulation, dogs given up by their owners because of difficult circumstances, and those in danger of abuse or neglect.
