My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Simone, a 1-year-old cat, presents a unique and endearing personality that sets her apart as an ideal companion for certain homes. With her delicate disposition, Simone thrives best in an environment where she can be the sole feline, basking in the undivided attention and care of her human family. While she possesses a wealth of love and affection to give, Simone finds the bustling energy of children to be overwhelming, hinting at a preference for a quieter, more predictable setting. This preference does not detract from her charm but rather highlights the importance of matching her with a living situation that aligns with her needs. In the right home, free from the competition of other cats and the unpredictable nature of young children, Simone has the potential to blossom into a loyal and deeply cherished member of the family, offering her unique brand of companionship to those who understand and appreciate her. Adoption Fee is $50 and includes Spay/Neuter, Age Appropriate Vaccines, Dewormed (Flea Treatment if needed) and Combo Tested for FIV/Felv. If interested, please give us a call at 423-442-1015 to come and meet her.

More about this shelter

Concern over a large, and ever increasing, population of homeless dogs and cats, instigated the opening of the Monroe County Animal Shelter.
A not-for-profit organization, Monroe County Friends of Animals help the shelter by providing volunteers, fundraising events, grant writing and more. There is always a need for more volunteers. With a small budget, donations are a welcome necessity. We have developed educational programs to promote spay/neuter and humane care of all animals.
