My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Taylor, a sweet and gentle soul who's ready to blossom with the love and patience of a caring family.

Taylor is a sweet-natured puppy who prefers to take things at her own pace. While she may be initially shy around new people, once she feels comfortable, her loving and affectionate side shines through.

Like her siblings, Taylor is still learning the basics of leash training, house training, and manners. While she may need a bit more time and patience to overcome her shyness, Taylor is eager to please and responds well to gentle guidance and positive reinforcement. With time and consistency, she'll become a well-behaved companion who brings joy to her adoptive family.

Despite her shy demeanor, Taylor still has plenty of puppy energy to burn. She enjoys playtime and exploration, especially when in the company of her loved ones. Daily walks, interactive toys, and opportunities for gentle play will help Taylor stay happy and healthy while also building her confidence.

We recommend slow introductions and supervised interactions to help Taylor develop positive relationships with new dogs and build her confidence while other pups are around. She would not be best suited for a home with other canine friends.

The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
