BIO:  Dolly came from IL when her elderly owner was unable to care for her any longer. Dolly is a sweet girl but it takes her a minute to warm up to stranger and other dogs but once the proper introductions are made she is fine. She is a talker when strangers come to the door so a Condo or apartment would not be the best situation for her. She does enjoy a fenced in yard and enjoys rolling around in the grass.

We are still learning more about Dolly so if you want more info please don’t be afraid to reach out to us.

Must haves for Dolly are:

• Fenced in yard
• Newly retired person that she can follow around
• She can be an only dog or one other adult to senior small dog or she’s fine with a bigger dog as long as they will respect her space but NO cats.
• No apartments, Condos or high rises

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund’s back or get bitten.

There will be an additional $60 fee added for a required Health Certificate if traveling out of the state in which they are being fostered. 

We will not adopt into CT, RI, NH, ME, or MA due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states.  If you have any issue with this, you will need to take this up with your legislatures.
