How do you spell love? L-U-C-Y! This wonderful 1-year-old is 45 pounds worth of loving sweetness and calmness, and thrives on her foster dad’s affection, snuggling and cuddling with him, resting her head on him, rolling over for belly rubs and then lithely performing her Lucy version of the ranger crawl. Agile, athletic, and passionate about being outside, she’s not only extremely energetic, she’s absolutely phenomenal around other dogs, and is eager to play with them all. Crowned queen of every dog park she visits because of her zoomies and friendliness, she’s happiest and most confident there, especially when the other dogs run around with her. Fond of adults and children equally, Lucy loves bones, sometimes plays with plush toys, and especially enjoys being in the car, jumping in when her foster dad opens the door because she knows they’re going to do something fun. Looking to her doggy foster brother for confidence as she hones her leash skills during their walks, motivated by food and love, she accepts all treats gently, is at work on her commands, and is almost fully house-trained. Only just starting life’s journey, Lucy will thrive in a loving home, preferably with another dog as both mentor and playmate, and patient adopters to complete her training, including her commands, and ensure that she’s mentally and physically fulfilled fur-ever.
Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application received in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails).
If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives! A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.
The adoption fee for this pet is $375. Our adoption fee covers the following:
Spay/neuter
Microchip
DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all DAPP boosters after adoption.
Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for any rabies vaccinations after adoption.

Our adoption process is:
1. Fill out our Adoption Application online. We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet.
2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting. Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member!
