My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello... my name is Percy! I’m an approximately one and a half year-old Terrier mix. I was rescued from the shelter and I’m learning what it's like to be a playful and wonderful fur baby, but I don’t currently have all the foundational dog skills (confidence, socialization, and impulse control) down due to my unknown past. Thus, children are too much for me, as I don’t enjoy forced situations and get overly nervous and stimulated when that happens. Grooming can be a bit stressful for me but I am a work in progress and learning that this is just part of what is needed for me to look my best. But with patience, I am learning every day how to trust. I need my adopter to be patient with me and provide me the structure and the routine I need to be my very best.

Additional adoption info

We require an application, application approval, meet and greet, home check, adoption fee and a contract.

2 months -12 months: $425
1 year - 6 years $375
7 years+ - $325

Adoption fee includes :

Shots up to date of adoption, wellness exam, fecal test,
Spay/neuter, Micro-chip and any other medical needed.

We also require to stay first on the micro-chip info for life and have a life time return policy on all our rescue dogs adopted out.

Unfortunately, we do not adopt out of state under any circumstances. We recommend that you visit your local shelter or dog rescues in your area if you are looking to adopt.

I.C.A.R.E. is an all breed, no kill dog rescue. We rescue dogs at risk of being euthanized from shelters, abandoned, abused, and stray dogs. We also rescue many owner surrendered dogs; which are dogs that can no longer remain in their current homes due to financial or personal issues. I.C.A.R.E. Dog Rescue is dedicated to reducing the number of dogs that are euthanized in our shelters each and everyday. We focus on rescuing and rehabilitating them in loving foster homes until they are adopted into their permanent homes. We also focus on educating the public regarding specific breeds, rescue, and general information regarding the canine species. We are a 100% volunteer run and supported organization that cannot survive without the help of loving fosters, volunteers, and benefactors.
