My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Chewy is an absolute sweetheart with some unfortunate baggage. We adopted him about 2 years ago from an adoption fair at our local Petsmart. His previous owner had gotten evicted and they needed to find him a new home quickly so we took him in. At the time of the adoption they told us that his previous owners had kept him outside and let him wonder around their mobile home park unsupervised . However, through our time with him we believe he may have been abused as well. He has very severe separation anxiety and is weary of men and other male dogs. He is not aggressive...just guarded.

Despite his setbacks he is a great family dog. His loyalty to his family is unmatched and he has been great with our toddler. He is the happiest when he is either cuddled up next to his human or laying outside in the sun. He loves to be outside and needs a yard to be able to explore and run around in. In the right home, he will make a great partner for someone for the rest of his life.
