Comet 3yo 8lb & Cupid 3yo 8lb Mi-Ki. They’re dog and older kid friendly. They’re house trained when kept on a schedule, pee pad trained and will wear a belly band. They are ok with a crate and when the door is left open will go in at times. They both love a secure fenced in yard to run around and hear themselves bark. They would need work with going on harness leashed walks since not used to them and the noises make them nervous. They need warm up time with new people so slow introductions are needed. They are very sweet, cuddly and affectionate once they have warmed up to people. They love playing with each other and some other dogs. They get car sick after about 15mins, so if need them in a car would need to work on ways to help with this.
Comet & Cupid MUST have a calm, patient home (no apartments or attached homes due to barking and their fear of loud noises) together where someone is home often, so not to be left for long periods of time along with people who can give leadership, consistency, structure and to continue working on training. If your home DOES NOT fit this please DO NOT put an application in. We will not call anyone not a fit. Also, we will be concentrating on local to foster applications 1st since home checks and meets with all humans and animals in home is needed at meet. Our fosters are all volunteers so aren’t always able to travel too far.

How can I Adopt a Tiny Dog?
When you are ready to adopt a new friend, we will ask you to complete our friendly screening process, which ensures a successful and safe adoption.
Complete an Adoption Application
We will have a brief conversation with you to find out about your daily schedule, determine your preferences and needs, and talk about your previous experience with pets.
We will check two personal references who know how you are with animals.
If applicable, we will call your veterinarian to ensure that previous pets have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and well cared for.
For renters, we will check with your landlord to ensure that dogs are permitted.
Lastly, we will do a home check. We will arrange a visit with the dog and your family including all animals in your home, typically at your home. This is a great opportunity for you to get valuable input on how to integrate your new pet into your home. If we agree it is a mutually good fit, you will sign an adoption contract, pay the adoption fee and take the new dog into your home.
This process typically takes a few days and then you are ready to take your new friend home.
