My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Mace is an almost 3 year old Great Dane who just got neutered and is ready to find his forever home! Mace is a big cuddly baby who will pick his favorite person to bond to. Mace is dog friendly, however he is a little under socialized and doesn’t really know how to be a dog sometimes.

⭐️Mace is very shy at first and it took him over 2 weeks to really bond and show affection
⭐️he has separation anxiety and can break out of a wire crate. Whoever adopts him I would highly recommend looking into an “indestructible” crate.
⭐️he will pee on things. This isn’t a potty training issue, it’s a marking issue. You’ll have to make sure everything in your house is easy to clean while he settles in.
⭐️he walks great on a leash 95% of the time, but that other 5% he is a BIG strong boy
⭐️he is easily spooked in public and could use some confidence building. He responds great to positive reinforcement training
⭐️Mace has lived with kids but would do best with older kids since he doesn’t understand how big he is

Whoever adopts Mace needs to understand that owning a giant breed dog can be a complete lifestyle change and a major commitment. He’s a really great boy! But he is going to need a calm decompression period while he gets to know his new family. Please visit our website, www.colonialcapitalhs.org to fill out an application today!
