All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston. Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system. To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters. Our adoption fee varies by dog. We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only. A FTA contract is required.

Surrendered to this rescue when she was found injured, She suffered 'blunt force trauma' (suspected to have been kicked or hit by car)

She was in such bad shape, finder suggested she was close to 8 years old. When our vet examined her, she aged closer to 5 yr old.

She was examined and xrays revealed a mangled left hip. She needed FHO surgery. Quick trip to Dr. Hanson (Nederland) and back to rehab. We noticed she was still not using that back leg, and took her back for another exam/xray.

She needed a revision. Another quick trip over to Nederland and back home. We sent her to Dr. Molly for cold laser therapy (x3) and that seemed to help.

She's still not fully walking on that leg, but is gradually using it.

Peony's forever home should not have stairs or an inground pool.

She gets along with other small dogs and comfortable around older (11+) kids.

You MUST register on our website and submit your application. a $20 submission fee is required. www.yorkierescuehouston.org

Interview

Immediately upon receipt of your application, an auto-response email is sent. If you didn't get it, check SPAM. VET RECORDS ARE REQUIRED.

3.
Home Check

You must send VET RECORDS. Home visits are required for puppies and first time pet owners

4.
Meet the Pet

The whole family, including current pets must attend any Meet & Greet.

5.
Sign Adoption Contract

All adoptions require a contract. All YRH dogs have 100% 'right of return' You must promise to never rehome the pet. They come back to US

6.
Pay Fee

Adoption fees vary by pet.

Take the Pet Home
