My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Joy is a little beacon of light and love rescued on March 15, 2024. Found alone at a place of business, Joy needed a little extra time to grow before finding her forever home. Thankfully, she was welcomed into a nurturing foster home where she flourished alongside other kittens her age.

Joy embodies all things delightful and endearing. Adoring, happy, gentle, and sweet, she brings joy to all who meet her. Her playful and energetic nature is infectious, filling the room with warmth and laughter. Despite her playful spirit, Joy is remarkably gentle and bonds effortlessly with feline friends. She's a natural caregiver, often seen lending a paw to help care for the underage kittens in her foster home.

Just like her namesake, our dearly departed Volunteer Donna, whose middle name was Joy, this little lady embodies a similar spirit of kindness and warmth. With her boundless affection and gentle demeanor, Joy is sure to bring love and happiness to her forever home. If you're ready to welcome a ray of sunshine into your life, Joy might just be the perfect addition to your family.

Additional adoption info

We offer "Meet & Greets" by appointment. To schedule an appointment to meet our cats/kittens please go to peterzippifund.org and submit the online adoption application form. A link is located on the right-hand side of our Home Page. Once received, an Adoption Counselor will contact you within 72 hours or less to book your appointment.

Adoption Fee: $125.00

Our fee generally covers everything your new feline friend needs to start their journey with you:

*Spaying or Neutering: Ensuring the well-being of our cats and controlling the pet population.
*Microchipping: A permanent identification method to keep your furry friend safe.
*Vaccinations: Up-to-date vaccines tailored to the specific needs of each cat.
*Fecal Testing and Deworming: A comprehensive approach to intestinal health.
*Viral Testing (FeLV/FIV): Conducted on all adults and most kittens based on their origin.
*Comprehensive Blood Work: For many of our adult cats, ensuring their overall current health.

In addition to all standard treatments outlined above, many of our cats and kittens have received costly treatment for other maladies that result from abandonment or starting life on the streets.

All donations over the adoption fee are tax deductible.

We have an adoption questionnaire to fill out prior to being approved, and a personal interview with an adoption counselor is required; at our discretion, a home visit may be required. Adopters agree to keep cat(s) indoors only and to not declaw.

More about this rescue

In memory of Peter Zippi, a young man dedicated to the care of animals, The Peter Zippi Memorial Fund For Animals was founded in 1977 by Dr. Alice Villalobos. We have adopted out over 14,000 pets (mostly cats) since then. The fund is run by wonderful volunteers who work tirelessly to help those who can't help themselves. The fund sponsors spay/neuter vouchers to qualified persons, and shelter for and adoptions of lost and homeless animals.
