Say hello to Amber! Amber is a female 1 year old mastiff mix that weighs 73 pounds. Amber was found as a stray in Parma and no one claimed her. This big girl is timid and sensitive. She has been on an outing and Amber has been an angel and a good listener. She is very quiet and respectful. She waits patiently for her walks with the volunteers. She is very strong on leash and pulls. She will need a strong handler who will help teach her how to walk politely on leash. She loves to be showered with pets and told that she is the prettiest girl around. Amber enjoys time outside and sitting by your side. She has a medium energy level and will be happy to share the couch with you to watch Netflix or take a walk in the park. Amber has shown great potential with other dogs. As always, you must make an appointment to arrange a meet and greet with any resident dogs. Compatibility with cats and children is unknown. Amber is available for our foster to adopt program which means you can foster her in your home until he finishes her vetting which includes spay, vaccines, heartworm testing, and microchip. Please email dogadoptions@parmashelter.org and fill out an adoption application online to meet Amber. Her adoption fee is $160.

Submit Application

Forms can be submitted directly from our website or when you visit. We strongly suggest submitting your application before you visit.

2.
Interview

Potential adopters are interviewed initially by phone or email and then again during the meet and greet. All family members should attend.

3.
Visit the Facility and Find a Pet

If you have submitted an application online we will contact you within 72 hours with any information you need to know for adoption.

4.
Meet the Pet

Interview and interaction - find the right fit for the family and new pet and a meet if this will be a second dog in the home.

5.
Sign Adoption Contract

Pay Fee

We post the adoption fees on our website. Adoption fee specials will be on the home page.

7.
Take the Pet Home

We do not adopt our animals out as gifts or surprises.
